Philly Joe Jones played hard and fast and helped Miles Davis put together Miles' first Quintet in 1955 . He defined the sound and became THE drummer for Blue Note and Riverside records in the 1950s. Hear him tonight with Dexter, Coltrane, and Miles tonght on the 9 O'clock Special on K-Jazz.
