It's Thursday night and you'll hear what's new on the jazz rack.  Saxaphonist Houston Person works with his long time friend Warren Vache and hot young artist Howard Alden on his new release So Nice,   Guitarist Pat Martino's new CD was recorded live at Blues Alley with Tony Monoco on the organ. There's a release of The Dave Brubeck Quartet from their last tour in 1967 and a new CD from soulful singer Carmen Lundy.  Listen tonight and enjoy the great new music tonight on the 9 O'clock Special.

9 O'clock Jazz Special for 8/23

Guitarist Pat Martino began playing professionally at age 15. Martino played and recorded early in his career with musicians Jack McDuff and Jimmy Smith.  His smooth sounds and bluesy style are influenced by his growing up in Philadelphia where the guitar/organ trio thrives.
