Sales tax initiative to appear on November ballot

A voter initiative that would make a temporary one-cent sales tax permanent will appear on Arizona’s ballot in November. 

Open primary advocates out for a few extra signatures

A group trying to change Arizona’s primary system will be out collecting some extra signatures Wednesday. The Open Elections/Open Government ballot initiative will give voters a chance to make Arizona’s primary elections nonpartisan.

Latinos are the fastest-growing group in the United States, comprised of different ethnicities, faiths, political leanings, and economic situations. And candidates must increasingly stand up and take notice of how Latinos can affect their chance of getting elected. How do you think Latino voters will affect the elections in 2012?
