Leadership Society member Maureen DeCindis is planning a couple of social events next week for fellow KJZZ and KBAQ Leadership Society members to mix and mingle.

Meet and Greet:
Have you ever wanted to chat about what you hear on KJZZ?  Leadership Society member Maureen DeCindis does and she wants other public radio listeners in the Valley to join the discussion.  With that in mind, Maureen invites you to join her for a KJZZ meet-and-greet where you can chat with other listeners and staff members about your favorite programs.  This is your chance to connect with people who love KJZZ and public radio as much as you do! Maureen’s favorite show is American Routes.  What are your favorites?  The meet-and -greet will take place Thur. Sept. 29, 5-7 p.m. at Robbie Fox’s in Tempe

Book Club:
Barnes & Noble has one. Oprah Winfrey practically wrote the book on them.  Now you, too can be part of a book club.  Maureen is starting a book club, which she says will focus on non-fiction books that have been featured on Public Radio.  The first selection is Incognito by David Eagleman, which examines the unconscious part of our brains and the complex neural networks that are constantly fighting one another and influencing how we act. The first meeting of the book club will take place Mon., Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe.  For more information, call Changing Hands at (480) 730-0205.
