Jimmy Ponder with guitar Self taught guitarist Jimmy Ponder started playing guitar in the 50s and was influenced by Wes Montgomery. He has worked with Lou Donaldson and Jimmy McGriff and laid down some tracks with Houston Person. Whether he is with an organ trio or a horn quartet you'll enjoy the groove bluesy improvisation of guitar master Jimmy Ponder tonight on the 9 O'clock Special.
