9 O'clock Jazz Special for 5/3

Pianist John Lewis was determined to get jazz out of the clubs and into the concert hall.  He and Milt Jackson made it happen with their band the Modern Jazz Quartet.  John Lewis wanted people to listen to and respect the music and the talented artists playing it.  Because of his vision, today we have many jazz concerts and festivals.  Hear John Lewis and the Modern Jazz Quartet tonight on the 9 O'clock special.  jazz awakes at 8!
