Scottsdale City Council appoints interim City Manager

The Scottsdale City Council has appointed an acting city manager, a week after the previous city manager resigned. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Mark Brodie has more.

MARK BRODIE: In a special meeting, the council appointed Dan Worth to the post on an interim basis. He’s been the city’s public works director since 2006. The council picked Worth for the temporary job with the understanding he would not apply for the permanent job - the city says it plans to recruit a new city manager. In a statement, Worth says his priority will be to “provide stability.” Worth replaces David Richert, who resigned last week, citing insufficient support from the mayor and city council. Richert had served as city manager for two years.
