Coordinator Special Events

The Coordinator Special Events Person works with the KJZZ/KBAQ Development Team fundraising efforts to benefit the stations.  Coordinates
and plans special events with an emphasis on fundraising. Develops and cultivates relationships with donors, vendors, board members of Friends of Public Radio Arizona (FPRAZ), other staff and other college departments

70% - Coordinates and plans special events to include coordinating and supervising volunteer and staff committees; secures sponsorship and vendors; researches and evaluates facilities and services; Designs and prepares reports and recommendations for current and prospective events and official donor functions; develops content and writes internal/external communication for implementation of events; including planning, marketing and promotion.negotiates contracts and price; reviews and monitors budgets and goals; assists in financial bookkeeping for events and FPRAZ board as necessary; provides work direction to volunteers and assigned staff as needed. 

20% - Maintains current detailed notes, memos, records, files and database of sponsors, vendors, donors and volunteers; researches market and develops sources of supply for promotional materials, facilities and services; negotiates price assesses budget and goals; facilitates and handles confidential information and materials. 

10% - Assists in other areas of fundraising within the development team, pledge drives, mailings and individual solicitation meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
- Successful non-profit fundraising event experience as a paid staff member or volunteer or successful
sales experience 
- Computer knowledge that includes database/contact management experience 
- Paid or volunteer experience in developing sponsorship packages for fundraising events

Desired Qualifications 
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in successful non-profit fundraising event coordinator or
successful media sales 
- Experience coordinating a signature fundraising event 
- Experience organizing a charity auction 
- Experience with book keeping systems 
- Bachelor's degree in communication/marketing or non-profit management 
- Knowledge of special event permit requirements for food and beverage industry

Special Working Conditions 
Various evening and/or weekend hours required; occasional travel may be required; may require lifting
up to 50 lbs.
