DUI suspected as man crashes into photo radar van

A man is in custody in Tucson after allegedly crashing his car into a parked photo radar van. KJZZ’s Dennis Lambert has more.

Tucson police say 25-year-old Matthew Jones is being held on suspicion of felony criminal damage and driving under the influence. He was arrested after the New Year's Day accident in the midtown area.

Police say Jones' vehicle veered off the road and struck the radar van. American Traffic Solutions operates the vans and a company employee was inside when the crash took place, but escaped injury.

The Arizona Daily Star reports neither Jones nor his passenger was injured.

Police did not immediately know Wednesday whether Jones had a lawyer yet for his case.
