Arizona’s First Congressional District seat is going to officially be open next year with Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick’s decision to challenge Sen. John McCain for the Senate rather than run for reelection.

Several candidates have jumped into the race in both the Republican and Democratic primaries. One of those is Shawn Redd, a member of the Navajo Nation, who is running as a Republican. We spoke with Redd about his candidacy.
