| NPR announced the construction of a 10-story office tower to serve as the new east coast headquarters. NPR purchased the current headquarters while KJZZ General Manager, Carl Matthusen served as its Board Chair. "It was a great investment and has served us well, but we've outgrown the space," Matthusen says. Looking back, Matthusen credits then NPR Chief Financial Officer, Sid Brown for financing the original building by creating a special bond initiative. "I even suggested we name the building after Sid, but he wouldn't let us. That's the kind of man he was. One of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met." |
