KJZZ, Arizona's premier National Public Radio station, has won two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for excellence in journalism. Both awards are for an audio journal series called "The Hyzdu Diaries: The life and times of a career minor leaguer", produced by KJZZ News Director Mark Moran. The series won the Murrow award for sports reporting and for best feature story.

KJZZ News Wins 2005 Regional Murrow Awards
KJZZ News won two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards in 2005. Mark Moran was recognized for his story on efforts to create a Chinese National baseball team. Rene Gutel won an award for her story about the local Nintendo inspired rock group called the Minibosses.
