Interview with Ernie Watts
( Phoenix, AZ )Blaise Lantana interviews saxophonist and bandleader Ernie Watts. Watts' diverse career spans some 30 years. He has been featured on over 500 recordings by artists ranging from Thelonious Monk to Frank Zappa. He also joined the Rolling Stones for their 1981 U.S. tour. The Ernie Watts Quartet is active with concert appearances throughout Europe and the U.S. where Watts gives back to the music by conducting improv workshops for university and high school students. Watts also records and plays regularly with Charlie Hadenšs acclaimed Quartet West.
