Asphalt Gospel
( Phoenix, AZ )A left-leaning grassroots Christian group calling itself 'Crosswalk America' took its message of inclusiveness to the streets last year, walking the entire distance from Phoenix to Washington DC. "No Name" Team May Make Playoffs
( Phoenix, AZ )The Arizona Diamondbacks are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. The team wasn't supposed to amount to much this year, after a series of crucial injuries, including a season-ending back problem for pitcher Randy Johnson. But as KJZZ's Mark Moran reports, the Diamondbacks have been winning games in the clutch with lots of players nobody has ever heard of, and they could be baseball's biggest surprise this year.

( Phoenix, AZ )A bus crash killed at least 17 people and injured 14 others near the town of San Pedro Lagunillas in the Mexican state of Nayarit. A spokesman for the bus company Vallarta Plus said the bus was carrying 35 passengers from Puerto Vallarta to Guadalajara when the driver lost control on a wet spot on the road, crashed into a wall, then plunged more than 400 feet down a ravine. About half of the passengers on the bus had flown to Mexico from Phoenix. The names of the bus passengers are below.

Checking in with the Sodhi Family
( Phoenix, AZ )On Saturday September 15th, a family of Sikhs will gather at a gas station to remember Balbir Singh Sodhi. Sodhi was gunned down there six years ago by a mechanic named Frank Roque. Roque was out for revenge for the September 11th attacks, and Sodhi's death was the nation's first post 9/11 hate crime. KJZZ's Rene Gutel reports six years later, the Sodhis are still trying to educate other Americans about their religion.

After the Paperclip
( Phoenix, AZ )In 2006, Phoenix resident Jody Gnant was the aspiring musician who traded a year of rent in her downtown Phoenix house for a recording contract. It was part of the "Red Paperclip Project," an internet scheme hatched by a 26-year-old blogger trying to barter his way from a single paperclip to a house. A year later, Gnant has recorded her album, and it's out in September 2007.
