A federal judge ruled that most notes from Jared Loughner’s psychologist should be made available to prosecutors.  Details from that ruling were made available today. KJZZ’s Weston Phippen reports.

Loughner is under the care of psychologist Christina Pietz after he was found incompetent to stand trial last year. He is accused of killing six people and wounding 13 others in a Tucson shooting that injured former U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords.

In the ruling, U.S. District Judge Larry Burns said that nearly all of Pietz’s 60 pages of notes would be available to the government. The notes include Pietz’s interactions with Loughner, email correspondence with prosecutors and notes from an interview with a victim. 

Judge Burns wrote that the government definitely has an interest in the notes because they would help determine whether to seek the death penalty or enter plea negotiations. Judge Burns ruled to leave out portions of the notes that included conversations between Pietz and defense attorneys.
