The Phoenix Suns are making former Coach John MacLeod the 13th member of the organization's Ring of Honor. KJZZ's Steve Goldstein reports.

STEVE GOLDSTEIN: MacLeod became the Suns coach in 1973 and won 579 games before he was fired during the 1987 season. In today’s NBA, it’s rare for a head coach to last more than five seasons with the same team. MacLeod says he and the Suns benefited from the stability.

JOHN MACLEOD: I think there are very few coaches that last. And there's always a time when there's a break and it's different. But we had a tremendous run. We had a good system to play. The fans loved the style of play, and we had great success.

GOLDSTEIN: Only five other coaches in league history have won more games with one team than MacLeod did with the Suns. He later went on to become head coach of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and the University of Notre Dame. The most recent Suns Ring of Honor induction happened in 2007, when former owner and general manager Jerry Colangelo was added.
