Kenny Burrell, guitarist

Guitarist Kenny Burrell has been playing and recording for over 50 years. Tonight hear him in the 50s with Coltrane, in the 70s with Herbie Hancock and today with his band, including pianist Benny Green. Cover the years with jazz guitar legend Kenny Burrell tonight on K-Jazz. At 79, Kenny Burrell, whose style is based in bebop and blues, is still recording for Blue Note records and is Director of jazz studies at UCLA. In 2001 he recorded with Medesky Martin and Wood on an Ellington tribute, and in 2010 he was selected as the "Grammy salute to jazz" artist.
