Congressman Jeff Flake explains why he wants to be an Arizona Senator and which issues are most important to him.

Flake, who has served in the House since 2001, says the biggest issue is getting the country’s debt and deficit under control. He says the Senate needs to pass a budget and move forward. Flake says the issues haven’t been suitably addressed in this era of 30 second ads. He says people need to dig deeper and check how candidates have voted in the past.

Flake explains that he’s an Arizona conservative, a conservative with an independent streak that doesn’t necessarily stick with the party on every issue. Flake thinks that the Affordable Care Act will collapse under its own weight if it isn’t repealed. He says he wants to start from scratch and reform a lot of aspects of healthcare.
