Large marijuana grow destroyed in Wenden

Authorities have destroyed more than 4,500 marijuana plants found along the Centennial Wash near Wenden, about 100 miles northwest of Phoenix.

Federal and state investigators say the plants were 3- to 6-feet high and located in four separate plots throughout the one-acre site. They say the plants were located in a grove of salt cedar trees.

Each site had a pump and underground drip system. No arrests have been made in the case.
