Composer George Gershwin took the sounds of jazz to symphony hall and the opera house.  When George went to Europe to study with Ravel,   Ravel said he could not make him a better Gershwin than he already was and sent him home.  Gershwin's intricate and bluesy melodies are a large part of the American song book used as Jazz standards for decades.  Monday night  you'll hear Summertime, I Got Rhythm, Fascinatin' Rhythm, Embraceable You, and many more of your favorites played by jazz artists from the 1950s to today.  Join me Monday night for a jazz tribute to George Gershwin starting at 8.
