Volunteering at KJZZ offers you the opportunity to engage in fun activities, associate with interesting people and support non-commercial public radio. It’s a winning situation for everyone and it helps ensure you’ll continue to receive the quality programming you’ve come to know and expect.
We invite you to join the hundreds of supporters who are generously donating their time. There are opportunities to assist during the pledge drives and at station events, and also perform clerical duties, including data sorting, filing, and processing the mailings that go out each month.

Pledge Drives
We need lots of people to answer phones during the on-air fundraisers. KJZZ has two major fundraisers a year—one in the spring, the other in the fall. Dozens of volunteers are needed to take the phone pledges. No specific time commitment is required. It’s a fun activity for individuals and groups. And most importantly, the money goes directly toward funding KJZZ operations, including National Public Radio and local programming.
Station Events
KJZZ uses volunteers for a variety of station events. The big one each year is the First Press Weekend of Wine. The four-day extravaganza is in October but preparations are year-round. Prior to the event, volunteer committees handle such tasks, as marketing, the silent auction, sponsorships, and publicity. During the weekend numerous volunteers are needed for guest relations, room setup and tear down, activities associated with silent and live auction bidding, and other tasks. Clerical Assistance
Listener Support
KJZZ has more than 20-thousand members and there is an extensive operation to ensure they receive high quality service. Volunteers are needed for general office activities associated with listener support. You’ll receive training on our system for processing member information. You should be comfortable with simple computer functions for these activities.
Mail Processing
KJZZ sends and receives thousands of pieces of mail. Once a month there is a scheduled mass mailing and volunteers are needed to assist in preparing the material for delivery. In addition, there are a variety of other large mailings on an irregular basis.
