Mariana Dale rustles up stories in the East Valley as a Senior Field Correspondent.
She’s followed a microphone onto cattle ranches, into classrooms, and many places in between. Though the fact has disappointed curious kids on career day, most of her time is not spent talking to the famous, but rather the quietly extraordinary people of Arizona.
She started at KJZZ on the digital team and you can still occasionally find her editing stories for the web and thinking of clever ways to share them with a growing online audience.
Dale has learned from stints at Arizona Public Media, The Arizona Daily Star, The Arizona Republic and as an intern at NPR’s Morning Edition in Culver City. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Dale is grateful for the mentoring of the New York Times Student Journalism Institute, the Chips Quinn Scholars program and AIR’s New Voices Scholars.
