Court Ruling On Russell Pearce Recall Election May Come This Week

A court decision on the recall election against Arizona senate president Russell Pearce could come by the end of the week.

The Maricopa County Elections Department and the Arizona Secretary of State’s verified in July that there are enough valid signatures for the recall election against Pearce to go forward.

Recall opponents claim there are irregularities with many signatures and say the election should not be held.

A hearing was held in Superior Court Monday morning where Judge Hugh Hegyi took the case under advisement. The judge indicated he would have a decision by the end of the week.

If the signatures are found to be valid, the recall election would take place in November.
