Free tax help available for Arizonans

Whether you use an accountant, a computer program, or try to file your tax returns on your own, it can be a complicated and expensive process. But, the AARP Foundation, is providing tax free help. It'll start February 1st at eighty locations across the state.

Frank Perazelli is the coordinator for the AARP Tax Aide program and he says hundreds of volunteer counselors will be standing by...

PERAZELLI:  Basically about thirty hours of training plus self-study and they are fully certified by passing an IRS examination.

Perazelli says most returns, prepared by volunteers, are filed electronically, with taxpayers receiving their refunds within a week or two. To find a site near you, go to aztax-aide.org
