KJZZ Feb 2012 - Centennial Minutes

KJZZ launched Centennial Minutes this morning-- one of a series of specials you will hear this month that reflect on Arizona’s rich history.

Centennial Minutes features 90-second vignettes that tell the stories of Arizona people and places that have left an indelible mark on our state's history.

The series includes five segments written and narrated by Fred Duval and Lisa Schnebly Heidinger, co-authors of Calling Arizona Home. They will transport you to the early exploration days of the Grand Canyon, the world of Rough Rider Buckey O'Neill, and the legendary adventures of famous Arizona ranchers and outlaws. You can listen to today’s installment online right now.

The remaining segments by Duval and Schnebly Heidinger will air Tuesdays at 6:30 and 8:30 a.m. during Morning Edition. They will also be available at this web page after broadcast on 91.5 FM.

Listen for these and other Arizona stories on KJZZ throughout the month of February, including segments from KBAQ’s Hearing the Century: Voices of Arizona’s Arts Past and Present-- a look at Arizona history from an artistic point of view.

KJZZ’s Fronteras: the Changing America Desk reporters invite you to share your most memorable Arizona moments -- memories of iconic people, places and things that make you proud to call Arizona home. You can share your Arizona stories and sentiments right now

Reporters will present their findings and may call on participants to share stories on air with KJZZ listeners.
