Communications director for the Arizona Republican Party Shane Wikfors and political strategist Nathan Sproul of the Lincoln Consulting Group talk about the impact of the presidential campaign on Arizona and vice versa.
Wikfors says Arizona will be big player in the election cycle because of the state’s position in primaries and Arizona’s status as a winner-take-all state. He says requirements to qualify for the state’s primary ballot are a bit quirky ... but even with extra names to read through Wikfors believes voters are smart enough to know which candidates they want to vote for. Sproul says that President Barack Obama seems to think Arizona is in play, but winning the state will be an uphill battle if the President's campaign decides to pursue it.
