Who's killing wild burros near Lake Pleasant?

Federal officials are still looking for whoever shot and killed six wild burros near Lake Pleasant. KJZZ’s Peter O’Dowd reports the reward has gone up for information that leads to an arrest. PETER O’DOWD: The Bureau of Land Management is now offering $6,000 to anyone who helps break the case. On March 13, someone shot into a herd of wild burros north of Phoenix. It was on public land around Lake Pleasant. BLM Spokeswoman Pamela Mathis:

PAMELA MATHIS: It absolutely is cruel. It absolutely is violent. It’s a federal crime. These are protected animals. In this instance it was someone who was very systematic about it.

O’DOWD: The BLM says evidence at the scene suggests more burros were injured in the shooting. The last time a shooting of this scale happened in the area was three years ago. That crime is also unsolved with a pending reward. Peter O’Dowd, KJZZ News, Phoenix.
