Two ex-Fiesta Bowl executives sentenced for illegal campaign donation scheme

Two former Fiesta Bowl employees have been ordered to pay a fine for their roles in making illegal campaign contributions.  From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Paul Atkinson reports.

The Fiesta Bowl’s former vice president of media relations, Shawn Schoeffler, received a $4,600 fine and 100 hours of community service under a sentence imposed by Maricopa County Superior Court judge Douglas Rayes. Schoeffler will also serve one year of unsupervised probation.

Rayes ordered the Fiesta Bowl’s former director of community and corporate relations, Anthony Aguilar, to pay a $4,500 fine and serve one year of unsupervised probation.

They were among 11 employees who were reimbursed by the Fiesta Bowl for making illegal political donations.  Former Fiesta Bowl executive director John Junker will be sentenced later this month after he plead guilty to one state and one federal felony charge for his role in the illegal campaign contribution scheme.
