Mitchell wins Tempe election by 139 votes

Tempe Councilman Mark Mitchell will be the next mayor of Tempe.

Following the release of unofficial results by the Maricopa County Elections Department, Mitchell's opponent Michael Monti conceded.

Mitchell has 11,351 votes compared to Monti's 11,212. Monti was said to have the lead Wednesday morning, but that was before early and provisional ballots had been counted.

In the same election, Kolby Granville was elected to the Tempe City Council.
