The federal government is feeling pressure from animal activists and Congressman Raul Grijalva over its wild burro roundup in Southern Arizona.
The Bureau of Land Management started the roundup Wednesday in the desert near Yuma. Grijalva and other groups have said it’s too hot for the animals. The BLM is trying to capture 350 wild burros, and the agency says it will stop the operation if temperatures exceed 95 degrees.
