Arizona Legislature sues Independent Redistricting Commission

The Arizona Legislature has sued the Independent Redistricting Commission. The federal suit asks the court to give the job of redrawing Congressional districts every ten years back to state lawmakers. From Phoenix, KJZZ's Mark Brodie reports.

MARK BRODIE: The Arizona Legislature has filed suit in federal court, challenging the newly drawn Congressional districts. The Legislature claims the voter-approved law creating the Independent Redistricting Commission is unconstitutional, and wants the court to give the job of redrawing Congressional district lines back to state lawmakers. But, the Legislature is asking the court to stop using the newly drawn Congressional districts after this year’s elections.
