Voter registration for primary election ends Monday

Monday is the deadline to register for next month's primary election here in Arizona. KJZZ's Al Macias reports.

You have until midnight July 30 to register for the primary election. If the registration form is mailed, it must be postmarked no later than midnight. The deadline also applies to people wishing to change their party affiliation. Independent voters may vote in either the Democratic or Republican primary. The election is set for Aug. 28. Early voting for the election begins Aug. 2. There are about 1.9 million people registered to vote in Maricopa County. For more information about voter registration go to www.recorder.maricopa.gov
