Suns' Frye likely out for season

Phoenix Suns forward Channing Frye says he’s trying to make the best out of a bad situation. He’ll likely miss the upcoming season, after tests revealed he has an enlarged heart. From Phoenix, KJZZ’s Mark Brodie has more.

MARK BRODIE: Frye has developed dilated cardiomyopathy - a condition in which the heart becomes weakened, and enlarged. He found out after a preseason echocardiogram. The team’s cardiologist says the condition could have been caused by a virus, and expects Frye to make a full recovery. Frye signed with the Suns in 2009. He’s also played for Portland and the Knicks during his seven year NBA career. Before going pro, Frye played at Saint Mary’s in Phoenix, and at the University of Arizona. In a tweet, Frye said he’ll be OK, and will be back. He also said Friday that while this is not a good situation, he’s extremely optimistic.
