Declining enrollment leads to Valley school closure

Education officials have voted to close Gilbert Junior High.

Last night, the Governing Board of the Gilbert Unified School District voted to close the school's doors by the 2014-2015 school year, due to declining enrollment.

The Gilbert Classical Academy will take over the building, and students who attended the junior high will be moved to other schools within the district.
