Arizona State University is opening a new center dedicated to Latinos and public policy. From Phoenix, Jude Joffe-Block reports the mission is to study the growing Latino population as it relates to the entire state.
In the next two decades, Arizona could become majority minority. And already almost half of the state's population under age 19 are Latino. Those demographic changes have implications for the future work force, future leaders and voters.
That's what is driving ASU's Morrison Institute to create a center dedicated to Latino public policy. The new center launches this week. It's first report was released this summer, and examines the impact of the Latino vote in the state.
