Loughner returns to Tucson

Jared Loughner, the man who pleaded guilty in the Tucson shooting rampage that wounded former Representative Gabrielle Giffords, has returned to Arizona to be sentenced. KJZZ’s Steve Goldstein has more.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Loughner has been brought back to Tucson from a Missouri prison facility where he has been undergoing psychological treatment. Loughner is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in Tucson in front of Judge Larry Burns on Thursday. Loughner pleaded guilty in early August to 19 counts under a plea agreement that guarantees he will spend the rest of his life in prison and makes him ineligible for parole. Six people were killed, and Giffords and twelve others were wounded in the January 2011 attack.
