Election Day's effect on K-12 education in Arizona

Election Day was hit or miss for education-related issues in Arizona. Proposition 204, which would have made permanent a state sales tax increase--with most of the funds going toward education--was soundly rejected by voters. And budget overrides in a dozen school districts were rejected. Chuck Essigs, Director of Governmental Relations for the Arizona Association of School Business Officials, discussed the state of education funding in Arizona and whether the legislature could reverse some previous cuts.
