For more than three centuries, Native Americans have served and sacrificed to defend the United States.
Those commitments have been honored at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, with the American Indian Veterans National Memorial. KJZZ's Dennis Lambert was joined to discuss the memorial by George Blue Spruce and Wayne Mitchell, both members of the Heard Museum Board of Directors.
Blue Spruce is a veteran and former Assistant Surgeon General of the United States. Mitchell is a U.S. Coast Guard retiree.
