Roadway burros a problem in Bullhead City

Bullhead City officials are warning people intending to drive in northwest Arizona to be careful. They say wild burrows have increasingly become a big roadway hazard. City spokesman Steve Johnson says while most of the burros may be friendly, it's important to remember they're wild animals.

"As easy as it is to approach them sometimes, they have tempers sometimes and turn around and either take a bite out of you, or people have been known to be kicked by them," Johnson said.

Johnson said a motorcyclist recently survived an accident with a burro, but the animal had to be put down. He said burros are big enough to be serious hazards for motorists.
