SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- George P. Bush has not announced which office he’s running for yet, but he is already proving to be a major fundraiser and likely to shake up politics in Texas.

It was less than two months ago that Bush announced he was thinking about running for office in Texas, and in that time he’s raised more than $1.3 million.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Bush -- the grandson of one president and the nephew of another -- is considering running for Texas Land Commissioner but he’s keeping his options open. He could pivot to running for Texas attorney general or even governor, depending on the shifting political tectonics.

Bush, 36, has never held elected office, but he has served as chairman of the Hispanic Republicans of Texas. His mother is a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Mexico. He is seen as a solution to the Texas GOP’s problem with winning Latino voters.
