Fourth compassion club checked by deputies for compliance with medical marijuana laws

Sheriff's deputies in Navajo County have executed a search warrant at a marijuana compassion club in Lakeside , but made no arrests. Chief Deputy Jim Molessa says they wanted to verify 'Mountain Meds' was complying with the voter-approved medical marijuana law.

“The search warrant was based on the fact that they are selling marijuana in violation in of the medical marijuana law where only compassionate caregivers can exchange marijuana not-for-profit,” Molessa said.

It was the fourth compassion club deputies have checked out over the last few months, according to Molessa. He says in some cases they did find instances where pot was being sold for profit and arrested the club owners.
