U.S. Marshals, local law enforcement crack down on outstanding warrants

A three-day law enforcement operation in central and southern Arizona has led to more than three dozen arrests. 

Operation Southern Star II targeted fugitives with outstanding warrants for felonies including drug violations and violent crimes. The U.S. Marshals Service led the operation, which included more than 10 law enforcement agencies.

Authorities made arrests in Pima, Maricopa, and Graham Counties – and 16 arrests in Cochise County . Sheriff Mark Dannels says lawbreakers on the run should never feel confident that they aren’t going to get caught.
