A young bear found roaming near an East Mesa neighborhood Tuesday night has been moved.
Tom Cadden of the Arizona Game and Fish Department says the bear likely roamed into the residential area after being chased off by older and larger male bears.
"The bear just ended up in a place that it shouldn't have been so we did decide to dart it, tranquilize it, and move it back out to a remote area in the Tonto National Forest," Cadden said.
Cadden says the bear was tagged but hopefully it will not been seen again. Otherwise, Game and Fish might deem the animal a nuisance and be forced to euthanize it.
