A task force has arrested 26 people in connection with a drug distribution ring based in Williams. The Department of Public Safety says its Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team made the arrests after a seven-month investigation into illegal drug sales by street gangs.
Carrick Cook of DPS says the drugs involved were methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, and prescription medications.
"We we talk about this many different types of drugs, over 26 people, that's not as surprising as if it was just by one or two people with this many different drugs," Cook said.
Officials say the investigation involved buying drugs from gang members in Flagstaff and Williams. The gang members purchased the drugs from criminal street gangs in the Phoenix area, according to officials.
