Arizona voters appear likely to get another chance to weigh in on a proposal dealing with state sovereignty.
The Arizona House on Tuesday approved a measure that would ask voters to allow the state to restrict its personnel and use of financial resources to purposes that are consistent with the Constitution, by passing an initiative or referendum or a new law, or by some other legal remedy. The 36-23 vote follows Senate approval in March. That vote was 16-12.
The measure will appear on the November 2014 ballot. Last year, Arizona voters rejected by a more than a two-to-one margin a proposal that would have had the state declare sovereignty over the air, water, public lands, minerals, wildlife and other natural resources within the state's boundaries.
