The Phoenix City Council has approved a plan to outsource food and beverage operations and maintenance at five of the city owned municipal golf courses. The city lost $2 million in the last fiscal year operating the courses.
As part of the plan approved Wednesday, the city will hire a golf operations firm and financial consultant to improve revenues and efficiency at the courses.
City staff estimates the outsourcing plan could save the city $500,000 to $900,000 annually.
