Arizona gas price declines ended this week

Arizona's run of price declines at the gas pump came to an end in the last week.  The statewide average price Friday morning was $3.44 a gallon, up almost two cents from a week ago, but still 16 cents below the national average price.

Michelle Donatti of AAA Arizona blamed refinery issues, in part, for the higher prices.

"There has been some refinery maintenance, both planned and unplanned," Donatti said. "It's impacting some markets. That has ultimately caused a spike in wholesale prices."

Still, Donatti said it is unlikely the cost of gas will go up much in Arizona as we head into the Memorial Day weekend. Flagstaff drivers continue to pay the state's highest prices, at an average of $3.68, while drivers in Tucson pay the least at $3.18 a gallon.
