Fire fighters battle human-caused fire in Coronado National Forest

A wildfire burning east of the Nogales Airport , has blackened 800 acres. It's about 5 percent contained, according to Coronado National Forest spokeswoman Michelle Fidler, who says the human-caused fire broke out Friday.

“We saw moderate fire behavior and we expect it  be similar behavior today as it burns through pretty steep and rocky terrain,” Fidler said. “Right now it’s mainly burning through grass and brush primarily mesquite and oak.

Fidler says about 200 people are battling the blaze and that no structures have been threatened.  She says winds and temperatures are expected to pick up, leading to the possibility the fire could spread.
