Firefighters in Show Low had their hands full with a blaze at a wood pellet manufacturing plant Tuesday.
Fire Captain Brent Mix says they brought in air tankers to put slurry on it to prevent the flames from spreading, and to the scrub brush and propane tanks nearby. He says the fire consumed some logs, used to make the pellets.
"They are real logs that they turn into sawdust and then they make they pellets out of that through some kind of process, heating up the chips, drying them, and compressing them," Mix said.
Mix said firefighters were concerned about the wind at times but have so far, kept the blaze from spreading substantial.
