Two Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopters were used to help a Cochise County Sheriff's search and rescue team find a family of three who became lost on a horseback ride in the Chiricahua Mountains. Spokesman Bart Graves said a man and woman had taken their 8-year-old daughter on an outing in the rugged area southeast of Willcox when they encountered problems.
"They got lost and became disoriented. They notified the Sheriff's Office that they could not find their way out. They were severely dehydrated," Graves said.
Graves says the very hot weather was a complicating factor.
